Sensidyne Releases New Detector Tubes
Ethylene Tube No. 108SC: A new direct-reading detector tube for monitoring airborne levels of ethylene gas is available with a measuring range of 1 to 100 ppm at five pump strokes. The tube is ideal for fruit growers who must monitor levels of ethylene during the controlled ripening process.
Butadiene Tube No. 168U: Low levels of 1,3-butadiene can be monitored using tube 168U. The tube has a measuring range of 0.1 to 2 ppm using four pump strokes. Butadiene is a component of ABS plastics and is used in the production of synthetic rubber products, including neoprene. The ACGIH TLV for 1,3-butadiene is 2 ppm for an eight-hour TWA, and it is classed as a suspected human carcinogen.
Tetrachloroethylene (Perchloroethylene) Tube No. 135SM: A new tube for tetrachloroethylene has a measuring range of 50 to 500 ppm in just one pump stroke. Tetrachloroethylene is used as a dry cleaning agent, a degreaser and in the manufacture of certain refrigerants. Tube 135SM is ideal for monitoring for emissions from dry cleaner facilities as regulated by the EPA.
