Step 2 of 3
Sensidyne recommends all users of the Sensidyne Nephelometer to update to the latest firmware version. Instruments shipped after January 17, 2012 shipped with the update installed. Follow the 3 simple steps below to update your instrument:
Step 2 - Download and Run Update Check Utility
The Update Check Utility checks the firmware of the Nephelometer for update requirments. If updates are necessary, the utility will perform the firmware update. Download the Update Check Utility and its driver below and save them to your computer. After downloading the utility and its driver, double-click the utility to run.
Filename | Filesize |
Check_Update.exe | 167 kB |
wsc32.dll | 37.5 kB |
Files open in a new window. On Windows computers hold 'Ctrl' + click or 'Cmd' + click on Mac to bypass pop-up blockers.
Running the Update Utility
After double-clicking to run the utility you will be asked to confirm driver installation, USB connection between the host computer and Nephelometer USB port, and that you would like to continue:
Input "Y" and press "Enter".
Selecting the COM Port
Follow the on-screen instructions for selecting the correct COM port:
Enter the number from the provided list. In this example we will enter the number 9.
If the CP210x device does not show up in the list, make sure the device is turned on and the USB cable is plugged in correctly. It may take several seconds if the computer has to recognize new hardware and finish installing the driver.
Check the Instrument
After entering the correct COM port number, the unit will access the instrument and update as necessary.
The program will display “Update Complete” if the changes were necessary. The program will display “Unit Already Updated” if the update has already been made. If the program displays “Unit Not Responding” or “Could not read the Settings”, make sure that the unit is plugged in correctly, the correct USB driver is installed and the correct COM port number was entered.
