Filter Cassettes

• 37mm diameter: Available in two and three-piece configurations.
  • Two-piece: Ideal for sampling most dusts, fumes, and mists as per NIOSH guidelines.
  • Three-piece: Enables open-face sampling for asbestos and other fibers as mandated by regulations.
• 25mm diameter (three-piece only): Designed specifically for open-face sampling of asbestos per NIOSH, OSHA, and EPA requirements. Features a two-inch extension cowl for optimal fiber distribution during microscopic analysis. The static-reducing carbon-embedded body further enhances sample integrity.

Membrane Types

• Silver: Effective for capturing bacteria.

• MCE (Mixed Cellulose Ester): Well-suited for sampling heavy metals like lead fumes (0.8-micron pore size recommended).

Cellulose Shrink Seals (25mm and 37mm)

• Applied wet for a secure fit around the cassette.
• Shrink upon drying to form an tamper-evident seal.
• Visually indicate potential tampering upon arrival at the lab.

Selection Guidance

While specific choices should be based on the NIOSH sampling guide, these general recommendations provide a starting point:

• 37mm filter and cassette: Suitable for all dusts, fumes, and powders.
• 25mm filter and cassette: Designated for asbestos and fiber sampling.
• 0.5-micron PVC filter: Recommended for dust sampling.
• 0.8-micron MCE filter: Preferred for capturing heavy metals like lead fumes.

Note: Heating metals releases airborne vapors that condense into fumes upon cooling.
